looks like 2000 for psa 8 and 750 for psa 7 is about market.....not sure what make a deal that's 'comfortable means..
if I got 1000 for the psa 8..i would be uncomfortable after seeing those prices.....2000 I would feel comfortable.... |

Keep in mind too that most those are eBay prices - the seller paid a 10% fee. Therefore, I would offer at least 10% less than VCP just for the fact that he doesn't have to pay any fees.

Thanks to all of you for the responses; I appreciate it! (Special thanks to Bob for the VCP pricing info!!!). I checked the PSA SMR pricing but know that's not always accurate. I'll post scans if I'm able to make a deal with him.

true but the buyer paid what the buyer paid.in those ebay listings....buyer has to compete with the other bidders on ebay.....thus they should split the difference .why should the seller have to give all of the savings...not having to pay fees but ending up getting the same is not a deal for the seller unless its cash i guess.

You have to assume that if someone bought PSA 7 & 8 Nolan Ryan cards bat some point, they know what they have and know how to price them for optimal sale. If they don't, that is their loss.

We've already discussed this before. Yes, the seller is not having to pay fees, but the buyer is giving up something too. He's giving up his eBay Bucks which can equate to quite a bit - especially on 4X eBay Bucks Days.

seller is giving up the chance to sell the card to the highest bidder.....if its a BIN that's different..ie. if listed for a long while, hard to say he is asking market price....but if he plans on putting it up for auction we all have lost a card by 2 dollars....there should be value to the buyer for the assured buy.. already commented on ebay bucks I don't see how its unfair to the buyer getting the items for 750 and 2000 looking at past sales.....eventually a good card you can find people to pay paypal gift based on past sales history on ebay (without taking in account the 10% when there are sales for more than 10% of what you asking for) as you know... the ebay bucks only occur less than 10% of the calendar year..if an auction ends on any of those 90% other days...then take the ebay bucks out of the equation.. ...buyer can lose by 3 dollars at an auction...so buyer gets assured of the 'buy' instead of taking a risk at auction.... it real easy to say ebay fees take off 10%..but buyer getting something too and that should be accounted for whether they split the difference or whatever... ebay bucks 8% argument really needs to stop...can max outat $500 on prior purchases in a time perod so no ebay bucks..and again..most of the auctions will end on days where ebay bucks don't apply as you know... |

My point is, if one is patient enough to wait the 15-30 days for the quadruple eBay Bucks before purchaseing a Ryan, they can definitely take advantage of the 8% back and still have plenty to choose from on eBay. |
