YES.
He was the "heart and soul" of the big red machine. Always delivered the key 2 out hit when they needed it most. Look what happened to the Reds after Perez was traded, following the 1976 season. Same remaining "cast of characters" but they never won again. MLB Network does various rankings off the "Top 9" of all time. I think the show is called "Prime 9" or something like that. Most of these shows air in the off-season, when programming is thin. Anyway, one of the shows focused on the top Clutch Hitters of all-time. They ranked Perez 7th... only behind the likes of Gehrig, Ruth, Musial, Williams and a couple more. IMHO, a statue is not only deserved, but overdue! Last edited by perezfan; 04-13-2015 at 09:04 PM.
