We had our first baseball team here in 1874.
Our first pro team was the Winnipeg Metropolitains who finished 2nd in the Manitoba league their only season in 1886. The photo is from Lewis Stubbs book. |

Two of my favorite Old Judge era team names were the Jersey City Skeeters and the Rochester Hop Bitters.
