			1. Fan conduct sign. Notice the shade of paint on the outer edges of the sign as compared to the original paint color of the Crosley Field seats it sits on. 2. Waite Hoyt in the Rain LP and early 1960s Burger Beer case as a display base. 3. 1930s Crosley Field vendors smock. 4. 1950s Crosley Field grounds crew shirt. Dave Grob DaveGrob1@aol.com |

Wholehearted agreement. I became a Giants fan when my Dad (a NY Giants fan) took me to a Reds/Giants game at Crosley and Mays, McCovey and Hart all went deep. 1963, I believe.

Picked up this original vintage photo of Vandy & Babe in the dugout prior to Vander Meer's 2nd consecutive no-hitter on 6/15/38- the 1st night game at Ebbets Field. I have two others from this photo shoot, but I haven't seen this particular one before...

Cool pass, Leon! FYI, Bryan Snyder was the pass agent for the railroad in St. Louis (Frisco Railway) that was responsible for transporting many of the ML teams. Here is my pass from 1901 St. Louis Cardinals that was also issued to Bryan Snyder. In 1901, HOF Christy Mathewson pitched his 1st of two career no-hitters as a 22 year old pitcher in St. Louis... |

| 1970 Rose All Star Game Bat

Scott, Thanks. When I started rebuilding my Reds collection, I told myself I was only going to acquire Crosley Field Era items. The last game at Crosley Field was 24 June 1970 and the 1970 All Star Game in Cincinnati was held on 14 July 1970, so this is just a wee bit outside of that. 1970 was the first year I really followed baseball, and having grown up in Cincinnati during this epic season, I just could not pass up the chance. I only wish I still had this tee-shirt that I had my school picture taken in that year. My mom was horrified when they sent these home as I neglected to tell her when pictures where taken. | 1960's era White Sox gamer

I (try to) narrow my collecting to '60's era Chisox gamers and unique memorabilia. The low budget White Sox recycled uniforms as much as or maybe more than any team that decade. Over the last four decades I've kept an eye peeled for all-original jerseys from that time period - to little avail. Fortunately, and very humbly, lucked out on this one earlier and recently framed it. It's a fantastic 1968 powder blue road (two year style) and all original (numbers, nob, tag etc). If you have or know anyone that may have original White Sox gamers from the period and possibly interested in selling or trading, I'd sure like to hear from you. Thank you Bob

Got this great signature of Joe in the mail today. It is already in a frame, but I have no more wall space in the baseball room to hang it; so I think in the morning, it will hang in the hallway. This may sound totally crazy to most. Perhaps it will serve as evidence of how troubling my addiction to the 1971 Pirates is. I have been looking for any piece of memorabilia related to Lorenzo “Rimp” Lanier for a number of years. He is the gentleman depicted in my avatar. Rimp is the most obscure member of the 1971 Bucs. He was on the Pirate roster for six games between Sept 11th - 26th He came to the plate four times. He struck out once and reached base one time after being hit by a pitch. He never played an inning of defense. He was left off the post season roster. He returned to the minor leagues and never suited up for another major league team again. Due to these factors I thought there was no memorabilia to serve as evidence of his rumored contributions to my all-time favorite team. Last week I came across a group of 1971 team issued photos on eBay. I thought I already had them all. Normally I wouldn’t have even given them a second glance. For some reason this time I did. I was stunned to see there in between Milt May and Bruce Kison was my pal Rimp! His uncertain expression reflected his tenure. As crazy as it sounds I placed a max bid of $100 for the opportunity to bring Rimp home. In the end his ransom was only $38.11. I would have gladly paid the $100 to return him to the team. I can’t imagine that many of these were printed. Heck…I surprised that ANY were printed. I know it is the only one I have ever seen. This is why I love this hobby so much, such silliness bringing joy to an otherwise mundane summer day. Now I have to change that avatar.

Dave, Awesome Pinson bat what an under rated player he was. Are the others also 1961 world series bats? I know those are hard to come by. Ron, nice Cano judging by the ball marks it certainly couldn't be from this season

| 1961 Reds

Only the Pinson is a WS bat. Others are period H&Bs. One of my favorite questions about the Reds of the 60s is this. Pete Rose had the highest batting average of the decade at .309. Frank Robinson had the most home runs for the decade with 190. Who was it that drove in more runs than any other Reds player during the 1960s? The answer is Vada Pinson with 722. Dave Grob |
