For card #117, I think it's very debateable whether that is Gehrig on the card. You only see the player's back, so it could be anyone. Last edited by glchen; 07-14-2015 at 10:27 AM. |

We had a discussion of this card awhile ago: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...hlight=lazzeri Almost certainly not Gehrig, IMO, if for no other reason that Gehrig followed Ruth in the batting order, and everyone in this picture is looking at further action in the field or on the bases, meaning after Ruth scores, either Gehrig is behind him on the bases or he already made an out--he would not be in the on-deck circle with some other runner on the bases, nor would he have scored ahead of Ruth. Other indicators make me believe it is not Gehrig as well, probably Lazzeri or Meusel.

Looks like Shawn's 102 card just expanded the known checklist...pretty cool.

I think it's fascinating we are still expanding checklists of 75-125 yrs old cards.

The same company produced another multi-sport set around the same time but I've never seen a baseball subject. Of course, I've only seen the cards come up once and it was just a handful so we're left to speculate. The other set has a white border around all of the cards as shown below. The seller stated that the set consisted of a few hundred cards.
