Perhaps folks could pen letters for this man as well. After all he asked politely. Who knows maybe some of the money was bound for his charitable efforts later on.

Perhaps it's a psychological thing, and playing the I forgive card is easier than looking in the mirror and saying "my so called buddy ripped me/others off and I feel betrayed". Disappointing, sad and disappointing.
