This is the set that got me started collecting prewar cards. The Ruth shown below was pulled from a pack by my father and then survived 30+ years in a cardboard box in the rafters of a detached garage at my grandmothers house. My grandparents moved while my father was in the Navy during WWII and thought they had trashed his baseball cards. My aunt found them in the mid-70's and my father gave them to me. I've since finished the basic set and am on my way to the master set. Also included are a few oddities that I've picked up along the way.

i have the master set; was fun until the very last card i needed that took me a year to find 1E wilson,allen,jonnard,brickell.

About half way through a master set myself, sidetracked by building the Monster and doublefolders sets. Still, a fun set...pictures to come when I can...

What a nice way to honor your Dad by finishing the set. I'm working on finishing the 1934 Gold Medal Flour set to honor my Uncle who died before I was born but left behind 4 cards, including both Deans.
