Personally, I like the Colgan's Chips and E90-1 Speakers as rookie cards.

As you know, with pre-war baseball lots of collectors don't care about rookie card designations. There is much more emphasis on scarcity and attractiveness of the card. The one I bought has to be one of the nicest ones out there, and I would pay the same price again any day. Cheers, Blair

Mainstream rookie is T206. Although none are known to exist (at least that I'm aware), there should be a 1908 Carl Horner Cabinet of Speaker.
I'm partial to this one w/ Speaker as a minor leaguer:
