That story is tremendous. I have an early NFL Films VHS that interviews some of the early stars that were still around in the 1960's & 1970's, Johnny tells great stories and looks like someone you really wouldn't want to mess with!
I believe that title from NFL Films was "Old Leather."

Thanks Ty, I like your comment about "bad intentions." Like your Brown even more! I don't have a lot of vintage football cards of non Patriots, but landing a Jimmy (any one) is on my to do list.

Awesome matchcover Mike! Do you mind my asking where you got it? I've never seen one come up for auction, but its definitely on my want list.
I recently finished Vagabond Halfback by Denis J. Gullicksen - I highly recommend it - a very well researched book (but maybe don't read it if you don't like myth busting).
