Since your suggestions are junk era I would think most of the Tiffany type SP sets. Not much else because there was just so much of it printed. Still by far my most favorite era of cards because I watched most of those guys play in person and they bring back great memories like Williams, Mantle, Mays and Aaron does for the older generation.

I never trusted those Tiffany production numbers. Back in the day when McGwire was hot it seemed there was an endless number of them.

I agree with most mentioned, especially the 91 desert shield. Also 93 finest refractors and 96 select certified. I think cards of the steroid guys will come back. Mcgwire is already on his way but I think Clemens and Bonds are good ones to buy now. 84 Fleer update Puckett and 89 Upper Deck Griffey in PSA 10 have room to go up in my opinion. I think that griffey in BGS 10 will be a 4-5k card in a few years and his PSA 10 will be selling for $500 before that.

On the Tiffany sets I have in my collection, the set's serial number is stamped on each box's bottom....in each case the set number is below the "stated" production number. I would have to believe that if a collector had a set with a stamped number higher than the stated/estimated production that this fact would have been revealed by now, but I have not heard of such a claim.

If more sets were produced than the estimated production amounts, than another theory could be that Topps produced multiple sets with the same serial number....but again I have not seen any collectors or dealers bring this fact forward either.

While it may have seemed like there were an endless number of McGwire RCs out there, there are only 1258 that are on record with PSA which is just over 25% of the alleged production amounts. This pct is probably a realistic number for such a card.

Surprisingly, these Tiffany cards do not have greater demand as their supply is exceedingly low as compared to their regular issue counterparts. Recent auction sales of sealed 85 TT sets were in the $700-900 range.

I have a run of these (84-91 ?) and the related Traded sets. I have never seen the cards themselves since they are still in the factory boxes. I also ended up buying some Tiffany "like"sets ( forget what they were called) from, I think 2000-2002

There were also Score Glossy sets, which were their equivalent to Topps Tiffany. Think they came in tins instead of cardboard boxes. I had a couple from 1988, but they were a bit of a pain because of the shipping weight.

I agree that Nintendo games will increase in value . But I never owned and probably never will own a 1952 topps mantle and it continues to increase in value . As does many other things . Anyway I have also noticed the PeD e players increase a bit .

PSA 10s in general seem to be the consensus...there are people on net54 who thinks the flip grades in the years to come wont matter much which would impact on those suggestions of cards that could amount to something...

Count me as one of those people on junk era 10's. There is just so much unopened product and so many collections with ungraded cards that I personally think 10's from that era will be very common and easy to get in the future. Not 100% sure UD isn't still printing Griffey rookies.

I agree with you on those 10s..heck there are low end and high end 10s..whatever that means...

for now though the psa 10 game seems to be working well...some 1972 topps psa 10 commons sold for a ton last few days

Any rare 10 like the 1989 fleer glossy was not only print in low numbers and is very hard to find in good condition . Some of those card are definitely in a PSA bubble that is going to pop . But then who's to say that there is not a warehouse filled with 1952 topps and it not in the harbor

cards have to be rare..AND wanted...rare doesn't really mean much ..if not enough demand...there could be a hoard of t206 honus wagners too...

The hardest and most expensive Topps sets for me to assemble from the 80s were the 82 Blackless, 84 Encased, 85 Minis ( especially in blank back), 88 Cloth and 89 Heads Up. The 91 Desert Shield was not too bad, but complicated due to the many counterfeits
