A news service is just a news company such as Associated Press or United Press. A news service made original, later generations, etc. So saying something is a news service photo doesn't itself say if it's type I, II, II or IV. It could be any one of those.
Some call them news service photos, others call then news photos or press photos-- they're all basically interchangable. A wirephoto is a specific type of photo made through telephone (wire) lines. As they're copies by through the telephone lines, the are by definition not Type I. Though they are usually vintage to the date of the image subject. Last edited by drcy; 11-06-2015 at 02:05 AM. |
