Nor would this have been brought up....but Switzerland and Pete both had to rehash the thread 24 hours later.
And my post #4 you took offense to in the BST thread wouldn't have happened had post #3 not have occurred. |

T216 beaters have taken a turn south in the last few months.

T216 are thinly traded and it's difficult to set exact market value on individual cards. I don't know of anyone who is attempting to put together a set. I'm not even sure there is a consensus on what a set would comprise of..Old Cardboard lists the set at 73 cards...on the SGC Set Registry they have the number complete at 105. It depends upon whether you throw all the backs in together like they do in T206, or if you only collect cards with the same ad backs.
Most people are just buying these as "types" and would rather have one in the condition that the Shean is in, since they are only buying one card ever from the set. I collect them in player back runs, so I would have been ready to pay a retail price on say for example the Bresnahan, had I been doing a Bresnahan run. I thought the Shean sold a little low, however I was the second underbidder, about $8 from the final sales price. Had I really wanted the Shean I would have bid around $401 on ebay to make sure that I got it, so it would have sold for more... |

A legitimate offer was made and you kind of went off on the guy.....that started it. I didn't take offense, I could care less, I was only saying why the rules were bent for that thread. (*as I stated in it)

Well we have differing views on a legitimate offer. 10%-15%....ok. 50%??? I'll admit, T216's aren't sold every day like T206's. So of course there is some room for argument on their "current" value. But if I want something and its on the BST for TWICE what I feel it's worth - I can assure you I'm not asking the guy if he'll take half of his asking price and especially in the thread. To each their own.
