Inscribed and signed by umpire Billy Evans to actress Edith Luckett. Based on stampings, the OAL ball is from early 1910. Evans umpired three series in Washington in April and Edith Luckett lived in Washington DC, so it's likely the ball was signed in this timeframe. Luckett, later Edith Davis, was only just beginning her career in 1910 and is now known primarily as the mother of Nancy Reagan.
Bummer the inscription and sig were traced/enhanced at some point, but I'll take it. Full inscription reads: To Edith Luckett From Billy Evans / With a Wish That Some Day She Will Make A Big Hit And Her Star Will Shine Brighter Than Any On Broadway / Billy Evans ![]() ![]()
