In "Two Shakes of a lamb's tail" a shake is not a verb, but a unit of measurement equaling 10 nanoseconds. So, two shakes would equal 20 nanoseconds. At least that's my understanding.

I heard Uma Thurman say "Two shakes of a lamb's tail" in 'Pulp Fiction', and figured Uma wouldn't need to shake anything more than once to get what she needed.
