Mark- I agree with the ball point autos. I prefer them. I don't understand the sharpie sigs. They streak and bleed too much for my liking. To me the Maris is more visually pleasing than the Mantle. Here's what I know about how these were obtained: Mantle is from a signing at Fingers Furniture in 1978. The Maris was obtained by my father by simply writing Mr. Maris a letter. Overtime he signed a complete run. My dad did the TTM to kill boredom while in the Army and while programming. He never really liked the autos. Saw them as "fluff". Direct quote," Why would anyone want a signature they didn't get themselves?" He might not get it, but I do. The autographs connect me to a time before I was born. To know that these guys put pen to these cards makes them special to me. First time I heard about Jim Umbricht I teared up. Still do.
