Nice pennant Rick, but we don't allow Red Sox items in this thread.

Mark. Wonderful amazing collection. Thanks for taking the time to post. One after another after another...tough ones and great looking too. I typically love the oversized ca. 1910s but that Indians pennant w the dancing Indian made me stop and stare. Wow.

And Ricardoh, all beauties too. How many of those 1912 Champions pennants are known.

My favorite thread, thanks guys.

Amazing, Rick!

That's the best Red Sox Pennant collection I've seen. Beautiful pieces, with a few of those probably being "lone survivors". Never seen that Ted Williams variation.... Niiiiice!

Mark, thank you.

All I know is the pennants you have posted on this forum make up the most amazing collection I could ever imagine. Absolutely fantastic!

I do have many other Red Sox but those are most of the best ones. I will put a few more up soon.

8 inch mini pennants from the 30s, each team came in various colors, but these are very scare and hard to find. also a full set of Keezer patches, also difficult to run across.

Rick,
Why don't you think they made these for the first Super Bowl? I know the super bowl wasn't really "super" in the first couple years, but you'd think there would be more pennants around. Jason

Hi Jason, hope to see you at a show again someday.
I think the first Super Bowl was considered too much of an 'exhibition' than it was soon being thought of. That is why the game attendance was so small. The vendors didn't jump on board in time, clearly. After the game, it became clear how important an event it was and by the next year it was obviously going to become a yearly contest and with obvious importance. By then, the vendors were going full force. Before the first game I think very few understood how important it was going to become.

I know this is the prevailing thought, but there are so many ridiculous pennants for almost any event you can think of. You'd have to believe there would at least one boot leg vendor would be trying to make some money. Especially with the Packers playing. Los Angeles was a good market for collectibles and I just find it strange that we don't see more pennants. There were 60,000 people at the game or at least that is the reported attendance. It must be though, as you don't really see much else for trinkets either. I just have a hard time believing they would miss a chance to make a buck.

Wow, those are some rarely seen logos on those mini-pennants. Really love the quirkiness and "off colors". Especially like the Reds Mascot... Is that a Policeman holding a Beer Stein? Must admit I've never even seen most of those.

Great post!

One of the things I love the most about the mini pennants, especially from the 30s, like the BF3's, are the color variations. These are 8inch and many of the teams have the same designs as their smaller versions. Here is an example of the Cleveland Indians and many of the colors it came in. I know more colors were made, too.
