Rob- The body of the baseball player opens at the waist. There is also a football player that opens at the neck with just the head coming off. The ones I have seen have been described as candy dishes or holders. They are constructed like a bisque doll. I do know that there are very few of either type.

It's always a pleasure, Glenn. I'm glad you were able to get the football player.

Picked up this pin and mini pennant up off of ebay. I think the pennant has the worst representation of a bear I have ever seen. I think it is more like a raccoon.

Roger, that. I think "holder" would be more appropriate.

Default 1928 Detroit Tigers Road Uniform

Here's something you don't everyday, at least not for me (poor cell phone pic). 1928 Frank "Shag" Shaughnessy Detroit Tigers road uniform. One year style and a very interesting individual to boot:

Lots of great pickups by everyone so far this month. Love all those early baseball memorabilia items you picked up Bob. Dave, some outstanding clothing/uniform items as well. I also love that SF Giants money bag, it is one of the most unique items I've ever seen posted here. What a month!

I got this off of ebay and it just came in the mail today. I have one already, but I set a super low snipe bid on it and shockingly won it.

Paul, That's a great Gehrig shot! Looking at 1929 era photos, he was a big man for his day!!
