Almost gave up on even looking through eBay BINs, but found this for what I thought was a very reasonable price.

Thanks for the card, Steven. It's going to the NY Giants part of my collection.

Also, found this T213-2 earlier this month in nice condition for the series...

Thank you to Johnny V for this pair. Street was the first oddity/scrap I had spotted but came up short on auction night, happy to finally own it.

I am a sucker for ghosts, picked up at the National.

I should really wait until I have the card in hand before I post these- card somehow got lost at the post office after I wasn't home to sign for it. Any advice on what steps I can take to get them to track it down? I've been there multiple times already with no luck.

.. Looks like a nightmare right now BUT---We have members on this forum who will , in a few hours , describe exactly what steps to take. Patience ; he'll be home from work in a few .

I bought these to crack out and have raw but they look so good in the SGC cases that I couldn't free them.

Awesome Gehrigs. Well done!

I've been jonesin' for these two for quite a while.

A big thanks to LukeLyon for letting this one go. Really nice for the grade.

This one showed up today. Another low grade with excellent eye appeal.

Chris, I was getting ready to wax poetic on the Gabby Street scrap, and then I scrolled down a little more. Holy hell, man, that ghost just pops off my laptop screen.

Steve, just...wow. Fantastic pick up. Is that your first red cross-back?

Scooter, that's a really nice Young. The registration is perfect, and I think the colors really pop, too.

Joe, congratulations on the two Gehrigs. A couple of my favorite cards from the first half of the century; the # 37, especially. That's my next pickup.

Dean, those are my kind of buys. The visual appeal of both the Cobb and the Matty far outperform the technical grades. You've got a quite the discerning eye.

Raymond, congrats on the Ruth.

I love this board. I've spent literally 1/4 of my life reading, developing a broad vocabulary, and when I come to Net 54, all I end up saying is "wow", "amazing", and "incredible"! Sometimes the simplest words best convey a person's emotions. Great month, thus far, everybody!

This came today from the Hunt July auction that had all the Tony Gwynn items in it. This line in the auction description had me a little worried; "Additional provenance comes in the form of a copy of a letter from a noted long time Philadelphia area memorabilia dealer and collector relating that it was sourced from a member of the Plank Family." When I got it today and opened it, I was surprised by the copy of the letter. The letter head was from Delco Sport Cards, and was signed by Tony Carrafiell. Most of you old timers will know why that is a big relief as to the provenance of the piece, as most of you remember that Mr. Carrafiell was a great member of the hobby. The letter states that Mr. Carrafiell was acting on behalf of Eddie Plank's grandson, who was selling a few pieces from his grandfather's estate. That is as good an endorsement as to the provenance as I could want. This piece is really neat unto itself, it is quite big, the frame is 14.5" x 18".
