My wife and I garage-saled all morning. The best I could come up with was a few beat up 1985 Topps.

Yes, in Wisconsin, garage-saled is a real word.

Best yard sale find was last year. Lady had (10) 1920s-1930s Yankees ticket stubs and a Hartland Rocky Colavito in nice condition. Best $20 I've spent.

That is pretty good as well. The best I found was some beater 1955 Bowman commons. The guy wanted $10 each for them. I walked away shaking my head.

If they are five cent packs make sure the 53's are not actually the much more valuable high number 52 wrappers as they look similar: http://toppsarchives.blogspot.com/20...is-not-53.html

I'd personally have taken both the cards AND the wrappers - methinks the wrappers are more difficult to find - Note: perhaps the first buyer scored some high-octane cards, but it's inexcusable to leave these wrappers behind provided they, too, were ripe for the pickin' along with the cards.

great find nonetheless...wishin' I was there at the time to score all of the above.
