IDK the answer to your question, but that Maples reminded me that I've seen some copies of the Gino Cappelletti single with the same shift in the first and last initials.

I think the Maples (and Cappelletti) are more of a registry issue than a variation (not meaning that you were implying they weren't). If you look at the yellow color of the letters, it should line up with the other letters. It is the red that is offset. That's why I provided the Maples and Richardson in part, to show that the Turner color dots weren't just offset but actually different. I think the Tom Beer might actually be different with both colors offset from the rest of the letters in the variation (though I don't have my copies in front to verify). In the 1969 Topps I have looked through (admittedly just a few hundred), I haven't seen any other dot color variations than the Turner. |
