Got up off my wallet and picked up some '48 Bowman basketball cards that arrived today. Highlights would include #34 Joe Fulks RC and four tough high numbers with #72 the last card in the set. This puts me at 62 different of the 72 cards in the set or 86% completed. Larry

Usually, I just post to the baseball side, but I finally got around to sending in my Gretzky rookie. The 1979 Gretzky rookie is the first great card my dad ever shared with me (we busted a box together when I was 5). He had a fantastic collection (mostly baseball), but I have always loved the '79 Gretzky. Dad has been gone over 20 years ago, and the card he showed me is long gone, but after he died, I saved up all summer and finally bought this card. I have had it with me for over 20 years. |

Everyone should own at least one Gretzky! Here's a Press Pass issued to Bobby Orr for the Blackhawks game at the Montreal Forum on February 9, 1978. I was told these were given to injured players to put in their handkerchief pocket during the game. Bobby Orr sat out the entire 1977-78 season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks recovering from his 12th knee operation. He would play only six more games before retiring in the fall of 1978.
