Love that AO Hank!
BP copied that exact setup in 1990 for football. I collect Andre Tippett and he was one of the winning cards, so I've had a hard time tracking his cards down.

Beautiful card, Ray.
Two catchers from the Hill in St Louis and the Cardinals signed the other guy :-( Last edited by ALR-bishop; 11-14-2016 at 02:43 PM. |

Great looking Yogi Ray. I can see why it was calling you.
That is a sweet Aaon AO. I have never seen one before. Thanks for posting. Just received this Willie today. It was calling me as I am closing in on my run of Willie Mays Topps cards. |

JB-- there are 2 versions of that card. The one you posted and one where there is a "white band" on his forearm. The latter is less common but not scarce

Al, I have been looking for a presentable mid-grade example, and the "white band" always bugged me. Never knew that it was a variation .... nice Yogi, Ray!

I think most would say it is just a print defect rather than a true variation ( inentional change in card), although it is virtually impossible to tell if any particular print flaw was intentionally addressed. But there is no doubt there are two "versions" of the card, and the fact it is Mays makes it more interesting...to me anyway
