Entered the realm of jerseys and went for this circa 1937 Hoover High School (San Diego) jersey...the same team and jersey style of Ted Williams' (although this was from the estate of another player). Now just trying to figure out if Ted and Warren Kanagy ever played on the team together, or if there time never overlapped (since Ted graduated in early 1937) . If anyone knows the 1936 Hoover roster, please feel free to let me know

Some interesting new items for my women in baseball collection.

Program and game ticket for American softball team versus an international team in Japan. I believe this to be post war, but not by much.

And two of my favorite pieces in the collection...

These are a pair of postcards featuring members of the 1925 Philadelphia Bobbies girls baseball team. The identity of the right hander I do not know, but I am fairly certain that the tall lefty is the tragic visage of Leona Kearns. You can read more about the Bobbies unfortunate trip to Japan here http://sabr.org/research/dropping-pi...elphia-bobbies. Ms. Kearns was just 17 years old when she embarked on the trip with the team, and through a series of unfortunate events, the team was stranded in Japan. Three of the players, including Ms. Kearns, ended up having to stay for over a month in Japan as the rest of the team and the manager had left them there. The three finally begged for enough money to make the return trip to America, but along the way they encountered massive waves and Ms. Kearns was swept overboard. Her body was never recovered.

The back of the postcard is in both English and Japanese, which would make sense if they were brought with the team to possibly sell as souvenirs on their trip through Japan.
