I vividly remember in the early years of ABC's Wide World of Sports, they traveled somewhere to a Curling event. Early 60s black 'n white, with Jim McKay doing the announcing. Just as the sadly missed Mr. McKay would intone each week, "bringing you the constant variety in sports". My memory of that part of his opening description might be off a word, but the fact they had a segment on curling certainly fit the word, "variety".
Oh yeah, curling is most assuredly a sport. ---Brian Powell |

"..the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat......"(during which a ski jumper falls awkwardly off the end of a ski jump) I suspect the agony of de-feet is a reference to barefoot curlers.

God, I'm thankful that the ski jumper was still falling off the end of the jump after all those years. Thanks for the link, Dale
