Unlike many other forums, many members here have known each other for decades. welcome back to vintage card collecting! You'll find that many of us on here aren't big sticklers for condition. I'm usually just happy to find a single example of a card I need/want. But yes, your observations about the changes over the past 10 years are, in general, spot on.

Hey Gary - Even though I don't know you OR many people on this board and have NEVER been to a show outside of the BUFFALO, NY area - I FEEL like I have know these folks for decades...

A common enjoyment (sickness?) of this hobby will do that!

Welcome back from a Cardinals collector who has multiple vintage cards and very few graded. As a collector I always preferred quantity over quality. As a result I have most of the vintage mainstream Cardinals but very few are of auction quality.

Welcome back to collecting Gary. Just because other people are obsessed with plastic cases and sharp corners doesn't mean that you have to be. Lots of my cards can only aspire to being in good condition, but I'm happy with them all the same.
