I think you have to place a bid before 8 p.m. On anything. Then you can bid on anything in extended time.

Bummer. I was watching the timer, and because it kept resetting, I didn't place a bid until after 8pm. Thought the bid went through. I guess not. Whoops! Rookie mistake. Haha.
