Thanks! I will check as soon as I receive the box. It was described as 1883 so I'm thinking that's where this date came from.

Slowly but surely, I'm still plugging the holes in my collection. Here's a new one.

I just received the box yesterday. I believe the tax stamp is dated March 3 1883. Is that of any particular significance? Thank you Michael |

If the box is from 1883, I think that's one of the earlier baseball cigar boxes you'll find. Again, great item! If you're ever interested in selling or maybe trading... Please let me know. Brent |

Michael- Great box. I also have a Home Run cigar box with some different graphics. Although a few proofs of this label exist, I believe this is the only complete cigar box known. It, too, is dated 1883 (see photos below). - Jon

Brent and Jon, Thanks for the kind words on the cigar box. Fantastic box you have yourself there Jon. Like I believe I mentioned earlier, cigar boxes are new territory for me and liking the action scene, am glad I pursued this one. You guys understand the rarity of these better than I do but the only one I could find through a quick google search was of this exact box someone previously pinned on pinterest.
