500k+. Wait what? There are few things that I would pay 500k for and I can say unequivocally that a box of black and white baseball cards isn't one of those things.

I was watching the 59 Fleer Ted Williams sealed packs just to see how much they went for. 24 packs sold for $20,522.57 with the juice.

Any chance that the buyer is a dealer who will sell the packs individually? If there are no other packs, collectors will be looking to buy 1 pack for their collection, not an almost full box. The buyer can set his price.

Probably true. A true collector who needs a pack knows this may be the only chance to get one. Really makes you wonder if there are more of these sitting around somewhere. A candy store that closed, a gas station, etc. I think there is a lot more stuff out there to find. Maybe not this exact brand and Year, but next several years could be very interesting for finds in this time period.

The winning bidder probably makes that in a week.

Regardless of the winners wealth 500k+ is nuts in my opinion. These are items that were printed less than 70 years ago. Seems crazy but what do I know.

But now that that one of the two bidder got his box, the next will sell for $10

However its sort of funny when you want to buy something, you like to quote what a past auction sale was for the item when trying to buy it. However, on this one with the way the thread is going, it appears what the item sold for doesnt matter. Of course its not all or nothing...there are relative degrees in between when thinking about pricing history...but to say the item would go for 1/2 for what it did really does not have much real info behind that. The item could also go for 2x. Who knows...but the past sales history does matter especially on such a rarity...we arent talking about 1955 clemente rcs here |

Amen Bob! A box of cardboard is not on my list either! But a T206 Magie was... for a ton less than that.
