4. Correct! Although it was Ripken who reached 3000 after the 1990's. He finished 1999, 9 hits shy of the mark.

No guess, I do know Boggs and Gwynn got 3000 a day apart and Gwynn did it first. That was in 1999. As a huge Boggs fan Gwynn beating him by a day was sad. I am also pretty sure Ripken didn't get his till 2000.

Is there such a thing as a Boggs fan? As great as he was as a Sox person I never had much use for him, he always seem to be more interested in fighting with the official scorer than winning games although that may not be fair. I used to say he was the worst .350 hitter I had ever seen LOL. The other thing was the guy had power, he just sacrificed it for the sake of his damn batting average, which did not to me seem in the team's best interest. I was glad to see him go.
