I don't remember what night of the week it was that Mr. Carter would mount his collection in the albums he used, but when he did so, he and Mrs. Carter would be listening to the Jack Benny Show. I recall reading about it in the write-up of the Mastro Auctions catalog with the first installment of his famed collection.
Mastro even made a special DVD that they included with that catalog which described the Carter Collection, Lionel Carter himself, an interview with Lionel and Irma Carter, and so on, where he mentions The Jack Benny Show. The Mastro people caught on to that, and they thoughtfully had the show's theme music playing as background music for the DVD. It's hard to believe it's been ten years now since the Carter Collection began to be auctioned. ---Brian Powell

I don't have a Lionel Carter, but here's one from the Harris collection. I have a card that belonged to Barry Halper, and another rumored to have belonged to Sir Edward Wharton Tygar, but neither is noted on the flip.
