not sure of the cost, probably $15-$25 to get it in a red flip holder. i would get it graded...you're eventually gonna get it graded anyway so might as well do it now. if you wait down the line the authentication fee will only go up with the rising value of the card. that crappy card has doubled the value in the last 2-3 years because people are buying them up and getting them signed.
edit: when i first saw the faded sig my first thought was to get it signed again at $275 then have it slabbed...not sure if psa will charge you 2 fees

![]() He is my great Uncle. Died in 1996. 40-40 lifetime pitcher. Highlight won the 3rd game of the 1950 world series against the Phillies. Scouted with KC. Great all around guy and had the best stories about baseball. |

Very cool! I'm sure he could tell stories for hours. Guys that spent a lifetime in the game are always a pleasure to talk to. Thanks for sharing!

I would get it graded for protection and because your uncle got it for you.

+1 The card is a beater at best, but it is a HA RC. Their is sentimental attachment / connection with your uncle, so to protect the card - if it were mine - I'd definitely get it slabbed. That's quite a keepsake and story.

does sharpie fade overtime?
I would say get it slabbed and sell it on ebay for whatever you can get for it because in 10-15 years that signature will be completely faded and not sure an even more faded card would be worth much. just my opinion. i could be wrong but it looks badly faded already I can imagine in a few years what it will fade too since it appears sharpie fades overtime. |
