That shot (obviously if it was clearer) would've made a really cool looking baseball card!!

Day 102
1960 Pittsburgh Pirates placemats... The first one pictured is the most common. I believe I have seen versions with advertisements on the bottom border. From my experience, the 2nd and 3rd placemats are much more difficult to find. Although in rough shape, I really like the 2nd one as it also pictures the 1960 Yankees. ![]() ![]() ![]() ca. 1961 Pirates Ticket envelope (not 100% sure)... ![]() ca. 1960s Pirates souvenir sheet. Note they used the Willie Mays nodder and applied Pirates decals to it...also priced at $1.50. ![]()

Did you know the Nabisco photo is the same photo used in the SI Posters, and I believe those cheap playing cards made from paper - Globe Publishing.

Yes, someone made mention of it earlier in the thread. I wish Clemente was in the 1969 Globe Import set. I think Brock is in it, correct? |

Mike that snapshot is very cool. Here is Type 1 Photo of Roberto receiving his 1962 Gold Glove Award.

I collect pocket schedules also and it's surprising how difficult it is to find vintage (1910s-70s) schedules with the team stars pictured on them. 1973 Dollar Bank Pocket Schedules... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think it’s refressing to see how informal these awards ceremonies were back in the day. Here’s your award, snap a few pics and that’s that. Funny to see players just walking around like it’s no biggy; Roberto wins the GG award just like everyone thought he would.

Day 108
1980-83 Baseball Legends... ![]() The card is common, but these are the only wrappers of this style that I have seen. They are very heavy paper stock and I'm assuming they used these initially (they have the typical fold lines from packaging) before replacing them with a cheaper, generic wax wrapper which I will show later in the post. When I purchased this lot, one wrapper stood out from the rest. It appears to have been printed on a different paper stock color (more white than yellow). I know this may not seem like a big deal to some, but when you are a player collector, it's little finds like these that make me continue to search for oddball items. ![]() White wrapper... ![]() Yellow wrapper... ![]() The next item is not mine, I am posting to show the different version wrappers. ![]()

Very cool photo! Pirates added numbers to the front of their jerseys in 1962, so it was taken before that. Looks like some kind of platform is set up around third base behind him.

Thanks George, I’m not good at placing dates on uniforms. So you think probably 1961-62 or could it be late 50s?
