Topps ought to be banned for selling autographs for this
I saw this on Ebay from Topps a Gil Hodges cut where all that is showing is his last name Hodges. Just cause it says 1 of 1 I know someone will buy it. Topps ought to be banned from selling autographs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-Topps-...wAAOSwEtFanbUs

It's definitly a 1 of 1. 1 piece of crap. Its hard to believe the people at Topps looking at this and thinking it would look good to cut his first name off and slab it.

Maybe Gil went through a blue period in his life, whereas he told everybody, "Hey, just refer to me as 'Hodges' from now on.".

If they did that to Hodges (who has a fairly short sig) can you imagine the Roy Campanella card? Y Campan maybe? LOL

Yeah instead of cutting off his first name completely and just putting his last name slabbed why not just find an index card or cut signature that's shorter in length then that one and put the whole name on there. It's not like a Gil Hodges autograph is that rare. Another one can be found where his signature is a little more compact if they actually cared and took the time to find one. Heck I have one they could have used. Idiots.

I have observed dozens of cuts from Topps, UD, etc., that they simply butchered.
Does anyone scrutinize the cards before they are released!!!! |

Why don't they just make the slabs big enough to fit the whole signature? Pathetic

That is one pathetic card and the lucky guy that buys it is about as stupid as the company that made the piece...of S*&*.

Because the lemming that collects this kind of junk will want it in a standard size to fit in the box along with all the other 1 of 1 manufactured "rarities."

Since they cut the Gil off the index card, be on the lookout for the GIL 1 of 1.

All cut autographs (even with full name) should be considered damaged just like trimmed cards are.

That just makes me sick to my stomach looking at it.
Its only a matter of time before they start trimming the borders off of 1952 Topps Mantles so they can fit those into packs as idiotic chase cards too.
