Why would someone just come forward with that info? If it were my card I would keep quiet and not want to talk about it.

Agreed. I'd be curious to see the last transactions before these. More likely the card sold for $80k, then a fake sale at $140k then a real sale at $100k. The original owner makes $20k and the new owner/"sucker" thinks he got a great deal.
