As far as vintage cards go. A crescent confectionery Jones sold for over 10K after the juice in an auction back in 2013. I think that may have been when Jack Zugay sold his collection in an REA auction.
A PSA 9 U.S. caramel Jones from the 1932 set sold for over 52K in November of 2016. I think at one time the Tiger SIFK was stupid, but as more cards including his 2001 Sp Authentic Rookie autograph came out, that card cooled off considerably...vintage Jones cards haven't.

seems like some of the under-collected sport super stars are getting some love... nice to see (especially if you acquired them in the past)

I guess I will be happy with my PSA 7 then!
And that's the crazy thing about grading - my PSA 7 looks solid and runs $500-ish. A 30x jump to go from a 7 to a 9 seems insane!
