Clemente bat went for $6500, plus the vig, while seems about right to me based upon recent Clemente bat sales. Looking at the bat, I don't think there was much doubt that it was real, so the stated provenance wasn't much of a factor in the bidding. A Clemente bat with light use and provenance is still just a bat with light use, and thus less desirable to bat collectors.
After 30 years collecting, I could go into the issue of ascribing provenance to game used items, but that is a whole other topic. Rick
