FYI the original poster of this thread has been suspended for bad registration info. The registration I received says it's a girl? I have never known a girl with James as a name. After an unreturned email questioning that issue the suspension was done.

For many years, I’ve collected Merkle-related memorabilia, including photographs of the playoff game. I’ve never seen this one. You can feel the crowd. Fantastic.

Probably. I would never admit to throwing like a girl either.
I don't understand some people. It's not like you HAVE to have your real name out here but what won't be allowed is a member having a fake name on the board and/or in their registration.

At first, I thought those people were standing on Coogan's Bluff, but after looking at the photo for a moment, I realized there were about 200 fans on the roof of that firetrap.

For the life of me, I can't understand how the ball club was able to pull that off.

I agree wholeheartedly. But we won't allow a fake name on the board and/or on registration. Now if this person, presumably a girl, emails back and takes out the name under their id, then no issue on reinstatement.

I would say Burns missed the mark on Larry Doby and others who immediately followed Robinson.

The series focused almost as much on integration and Jackie Robinson as it did on Baseball itself. But the other African American "pioneers" garnered only a brief mention. Many of them followed Jackie's footsteps by a mere few weeks, and faced similar hatred and racial issues. But you wouldn't know it, based on the way it was portrayed.

I don't have any good photos to share, but hope this addresses the OP's question... man, woman, transgender, or otherwise.
