Wow, this thread truly mirrors reality. Untold numbers of pages celebrating Roberto Clemente's career and all of the joy it brought to fans...and then BOOM!!!...a sudden turn of events at the end as he dies trying to help shattered people. So depressing. So realistic.

I am going to thank you in advance for posting all that great Clemente ! Forty Five ? years after his death, and we can all learn from him what it is to show sportsmanship and class on the field and to be a humanitarian off the field. It really sunk home with me when you posted the old newspapers. Such a sad day... I do remember it . I was only 7 but my Dad told me about it. Sad day... Just like when Thurman died tragically. Even at a young age I understood something really good was taken away from all of us. More than a baseball player.
Thanks Again Scott |

I posted this item earlier in the thread, a 1972 Sportsline Pittsburgh with Roberto on cover. I haven’t picked up any Clemente items in a long time mainly because I have been pursuing other collecting interests. And also because the more items I acquire, the more difficult it is to find something I don’t already have.
So I was browsing through eBay the other day and decided to check for RC items when I came across this next item. Thanks to a great seller Frank (eBay ID: ballpark-frank) I was able to purchase it. He sent me message saying that he had seen this thread & that he gladly accepted my offer. So, if you’re reading this Frank, thanks again for helping me add to the collection. 1973 Sportsline Pittsburgh…
