We should keep this thread on the first two pages for the remainder of 2019. Alright, who's with me?
Will start with a few items today to bring it to the top. Here are two different 1946-1947 W603 Sports Exchange All Star Pictures of Ted Williams |

Thought I would post this as these are confused often (even by the TPGs; I have a 1941 encased by BVG that is listed as a 1940 on the flip).
The Boston Red Sox often used the same photos for their team Photo Packs. These two below represent the 1940 and 1941 Boston Photo Pack Ted Williams. The KEY difference between the two are the size of the signature; 1940 being a small signature (true for the entire pack of 25 players) and the 1941 being a large signature (also true for the entire pack). |

As you can tell, I love variations. Here are a few from the 1950 R423 Strip cards of Ted Williams. Each is a complete strip, with a back color variation. Orange, Green, Purple and Navy Blue are shown. Many collectors (and TPGs) refuse to acknowledge that a Navy blue back variation exists. The strip has a slightly more glossy surface, does not have perforations between cards, and the player sequence is completely different.
Sorry the orange and green photos are blurry; these are entombed in PSA holders that don't fit my scanner very well. |

I purchased this Ted figurine in the '80's from an older gentleman/dealer who was set up next to me at a Tampa card show. He made this himself & was displaying it for show only. Took me the entire weekend of negotiating to finally buy it on Sunday. Think I paid $100 for it. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece.

That is a cool looking ad piece. And a common Williams card with somewhat rare centering. ....

![]() This Day In Sports was a feature that ran in sports sections for years. They looked like cards. I found a stack of 1960 and 1961 baseball ones at the bottom of a box of stuff I bought and decided that if someone took the effort to cut them out and save them for over 50 years the least I could do was keep them.

That is one rare Williams advertising piece. Is that real or a reprint?

A few pins and charms (most are not really rare, just uncommon to see so many at once).

Purchased back in the '80's. Had it looked at by multiple people/experts. All indications are that it is not a reprint & is indeed actual Topps advertising piece. |

Today, a few Jimmy Fund Ted Williams membership cards. Start with the
1. Common 1959 (and the common "high-number" variation which has a different cropped photo and different ink on the back) 2. The Uncommon 1960 with the vertical Ted 3. The HTF 1956, 1957 and 1958 4. Finally, the "darn-near-impossible" 1963, 1971, 1972 Still two that I know of (1965 and 1967) that I do not own. Anybody have other years? David |

The ball hit by Williams comes from a collection of an elderly gentleman whose family had season tickets in the first row along the third base line at Cleveland's Municipal Stadium -- I picked up about a dozen foul balls from the collection
