Always thought this image of Lefty Leifield from a W601 is a tad unflattering.

That Leifield image sort of reminds me the 1932 US Caramel Jimmie Foxx with the really dark shadows all over his face.

I believe it's Jimmy Collins.

I've always thought the N284 Gold Coin set is pretty worthless. Pretty much the same player in different poses.

I'm not an earlobe expert, but this looks like Brouthers to me. Is the Anson for sale?

---least favorite pre-war cards, I guess M116 even though I bought a half set not long ago from Lelands. I might call Greg Morris cards soon...

I think you nailed it Todd. The side view shown on the card definitely looks more like paunchy, dark haired Jimmy Collins than a youthful Eddie. And Jimmy played his last season in the MLB with the Athletics in 1908, so the team identification matches. The back of the card just identifies the player as 'Collins'.

The E93 Standard Caramel set has been identified as a 1910 set...is it time to look into the actual issue date of this one too? In any event, I think it is about time to switch the identification of this card to Jimmy Collins.

Big Heads from the last collection. They are some goofy looking cards.

I like almost all of the cards in the E93 set, but always was turned off by the Eddie Collins card, which is my least favorite Eddie Collins card, even more than the W575-2 slumpy man in a wrinkly suit card. In the E93 card he looks like some movie mask-wearing evildoer.

I don't ever remember anyone mentioning this, but does the E93 even picture Eddie?

In regards to the T207 bashing; well some people have no taste!

I always crack up at the 1958 Robinson. Easily one of the nicest men to ever put on a pair of cleats but he looks like a disgusted young punk in the picture. My least favorite sets though are the M101’s and their lookalikes (e.g. E121). Just look so plain relative to other prewar sets. I get that people like the fact that they’re actual photos but I prefer the the more colorful sets of the era.
