Very cool....
Even if it brought more money to cut/slab it, I would definitely leave it as-is. Especially since a small portion of the "R" goes into the gold background. A cut would look funny with the two-toned gold/white background and no other context provided. Keeping it in-tact tells an important story, and framing the signed cover with that particular photo is a perfect solution.
