On the middle card the grey of his cap matches the deathly grey color of his face...nice card.

Certainly not my least favorite part of the hobby. However, I think you need to find at least one more to catalog it. It looks "off-white" to me. Nice card.

I searched my T207 grouping and could only find this Simon 'color' variation. More likely it is due to toning, but thought others might want to see it as well. No matter what, the grey cap Fisher is much more impressive.

My thought (if I can save some face) is that it is an ink progression into the "blue" cap. Kinda goes back to what Fromme says that the Fisher, Davis, Lewis, et al are really printing errors - although I don't agree on the Lewis (at least). We good? Editted to add: I find it interesting that the collar and shading on the "NY" is unaffected. Wouldn't those appear to be the same color and therefore ink run?
