Every other pitcher I have seen, including when I was playing as a teenager, had the momentum of his body moving towards home plate when delivering a pitch. Walter is the only exception to this.

I have always wondered about the physics of it: Propelling your body towards the plate when throwing (think Koufax or Gibson) vs. bracing your back foot hard against the rubber and throwing while pushing back against it.

Jay, nice card. Even tougher is the Type 2 Witmor, which has the vertical back - I've never seen one, nor is there one in the pop reports.
