There is a big car show at the convention center this weekend also. If you want to see some rare and expensive muscle cars stop by the car show.

I have wondered if it might not be the opposite actually. In person dealers prefer cash/check generally. For buyers this means no protection if something ends up not checking out upon further review (friends, graders, research, Blow Out, etc) in the couple of weeks following a sale.

This assumes that most collectors cannot easily detect these alterations on the spot, which seems pretty safe given what it has taken to expose some of the altered cards. If I have to choose between buying a $3000 card with a check at a show or a $3000 card with a credit card online through a system that offers at least some protection, I will pick the latter.
