Here is my reasoning for using free shipping when selling on eBay.

In the past, I would charge $3.75 for every graded card (plus $1.00 for each additional graded card) that I was selling on eBay. Frankly, I felt that it was fair.

However, I would constantly get dinged (not receive a 5-star rating) in feedback for "shipping & handling charges".

A lot of buyers fail to give much thought to:
- The price of postage has gone up (it seems to be every other year).
- The price of shipping supplies (bubble mailer, labels, printer ink, etc.).

Now I utilize free shipping on eBay and incorporate the aforementioned shipping charges into the overall price.
Now nobody can ding me for shipping & handling charges.

Fair point.

The seller has postcards that usually sell for around $10 plus shipping, he lists them for $15 with free shipping. So if I buy 5, I'm essentially paying $25 to ship 5 postcards. Buying one is not so bad but buying 5? No thanks.

95% of what I sell (not that I sell a ton).

That being said, if someone reached out wanting to buy in bulk, I’d happily right-size shipping for them.

So, the issue isn’t so much free shipping as sellers hiding behind it and being inflexible.
