You certainly do fine work, Phil. They're beautiful; the 1954 Bowman Hank Aaron really captured my eye.
I sure had a lot of fun doing a few fantasy cards in conjunction with my book on immediate post-war regional / food issues, NEVER CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN. With the help of an artist-photographer-computer graphic artist, I made two different versions of 1954 Wilson Franks Mickey Mantle and Jackie Robinson. Owning a genuine Wilson Roy Campanella made it easier to do. It's been almost ten years ago now, but I remember the project well. ![]() Keep having fun doing your creations. All the best to you, sir. ---Brian Powell |

A 1939 Play Ball Gehrig would have been a great send off. I can only imagine how nice that card would have looked.

What do you imagine? Would it be a staged "action" shot or a poignant portrait?

I'm thinking it would have looked a lot like the 34 Goudey, the one where he's got that big smile on his face. Something like this:

I've posted a link to this a few times in the past (too many times?), but here it is again. An eye-candy rich tackling of the missing HOF 'In Action' and 'Traded' cards from the 1972 Topps set...
