Wow, that's tough. But, this is a cool concept, as of course we know they were all great, but for this question it really makes me think about them, as I saw them, on the mound which is fun. That makes it ridiculously hard, but I tend to lean towards the previous post with Seaver and Carlton and probably go Seaver. But man, Guidry was nasty, so, heck I don't know. Would love to be that manager.

Carlton 1972. Any man who can win 27 games for a team that only managed to win 59 games total, and with an ERA under 2, is the guy I'll go with.

Palmer was pretty good in the postseason. Plus the card shown looks the best for sure...😃

Of the guys you listed, I would take Palmer, but I am not sure how Orel Hershiser doesn't make your list. I would take him over any of the guys you listed. 1988 post season 3-0 with 1 save, 1.05 ERA, 2 shutouts.

Palmer was 4-2 with a 3.20 ERA in the World Series. If I needed to win one game I'd want a little better than that.

For my money: Mickey Lolich

I'd take Seaver on the list.
Off the list, Madison Bumgarner is 4-0 with a 0.25 ERA in his World Series career with a 5 inning save in a game 7 on the road. |

Palmer was 8-3 in the postseason with a 2.61 ERA with 6 complete games. Remember the teams they were playing...

If you want to choose an Oriole, McNally was better than Palmer in the WS: 4-2, which is the same, but much lower ERA, 2.34 to 3.20. Even Cuellar had a better WS ERA at 2.61. |
