Okay, here is the final card that still needs to be posted, unless there is one that I missed.
Joe Doyle - "NY Nat'l" w/ Hands Above Head PARTIALLY POSTED, THANKS TO TED..(see post #428) It has a little bit of blue ink peaking out on the left side, so probably a blue background card. Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 05-19-2020 at 11:09 AM. |

On May 18, 1908, Royal 'Hunky' Shaw had his only MLB plate appearance for the Pirates, striking out.
Six weeks later he was sold to Jersey City, and appeared with Providence in 1909. He went on to lead the PCL in batting in 1910 as a member of the San Francisco Seals, and continued to play minor league ball until 1916. |

I am officially blaming the checklist I used. Joe Lake St. Louis w/ball added to the 'Remains to be posted list', then removed!
And to officially point out Post #401, which has a list of the remaining subjects to be posted, and in this home stretch it will be the list I will be updating by removing subjects when they have been posted. Brian Last edited by brianp-beme; 05-14-2020 at 08:28 PM. |

Forget the "blame-game". We really appreciate the check-list (post #88) which you posted 5 weeks ago. Without it, this game would not have been as interesting as it has. And, most likely would have dragged-out for many months. TED Z T206 Reference . |

Rebel Oakes
Rebel Oakes was quite a character, but most of all he was a fleet-footed ballplayer. August 6, 1909 (Cinci vs Giants),
Rebel laid down a perfect bunt along the third-base line in the 10th inning of a scoreless game. He ran all the bases and scored to win the game (taking advantage of two New York throwing errors). . TED Z T206 Reference . |

Of course, I had to buy back in like an Omaha hi-lo rebuy tourney on party-poker... Shreck was Rube Waddell's primary catcher...Picked this oversized t206 from veteran dealer 707...yeah!

Emil "Ace" Batch played 3B/OF for the Brooklyn Superbas from 1904 - 1907. It seems that by 1909 he was playing for Rochester, but more information was not forthcoming on google.

Congrats, we did it...all 400 or so non-HOF and non-Southern League T206 subjects, except of course for the killer Doyle. If someone posts their copy, I will officially cross it off the list and celebrate with an adult beverage.

Hi Brian
Perhaps, some one will post their Joe Doyle N.Y. Nat'l card. Until then, here is my "poor man's" substitute for it. The "printer's mark" that I have identified in my scan is evident on approx. 6 % of the T206 Joe Doyle cards. Check-out my ongoing 12-year Survey: https://www.net54baseball.com/showth...237816&page=20 (Post # 985). This "printer's mark" is apparently the result of the initial rush to erase the "Nat'L" lettering on the printing plate. Anyhow, if some one does post a real Joe Doyle N.Y. Nat'l card, I will delete this post. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -^ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Printer's Mark - - - -^ (remnant of "N" in Nat'L) Joe Doyle cards from my three sets: PIEDMONT....SOVEREIGN....SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) TED Z T206 Reference . |
