Brooks Robinson and the Baltimore Orioles

Last night I was sorting through my postcards to see if there were any unique ones to share with you (and the Board).

Back in '91 Cal Jr. did some publicity work with the American Red Cross (Central MD Chapter), which generated some memorabilia including this (un-used) postcard. While certainly not a team issue, I remember Wayne Johnson telling at me at one time that he hadn't seen it before:

Nice. I have heard of a Red Cross postcard, but never seen it. That kind of local stuff, doesn't make it up to Maine.

All though I don't collect Orioles or Brooks Robinson cards, I have read every post of this fascinating thread. I admire the passion that shows through from the serious Brooks/Orioles collectors. I particularly like the Wichita items I have seen posted, having grown up there from 68-75.

I collect Cardinals items, particularly minor league cards and was looking for information on whether any cards or team issues exist for Rochester from 1928-1960 as they were a AAA affiliate for the Cardinals. Any help is appreciated.

Good afternoon Bill,

I've never seen that version of the Red Cross Cal Ripken postcard before. I see yours is dated 1991. I don't know whether this one was issued the same year or came out a different year, as there's no date anywhere on it.

That postcard wouldn't have made it up to Pennsylvania either if I hadn't written the Red Cross in '91 and asked them (in exchange for a donation) for any promotional items they may have had depicting Cal Jr. lol:
