Thanks to John and Jon for linking to those articles. I haven't been looking at Pirates Prospects for awhile--just too despressed. But these articles got my spirits up, and I read lots of other stuff on that excellent site. Highly recommended to anyone with Pirate interests.

Thanks, Mark. There are a ton of free articles that people here would like because they deal with vintage players. I'd recommend the two articles looking at the time Dazzy Vance and Red Faber spent with the Pirates. It was basically a day-by-day look at both of them with rare photos of them with the Pirates. I had fun researching both of them
Vance: https://www.piratesprospects.com/202...zzy-vance.html Faber: https://piratesprospects.com/2020/05...red-faber.html I put up our 25th Card of the Day article today (linked in the article, all free, but not all are vintage), Bill Mazeroski's rookie: https://www.piratesprospects.com/202...mazeroski.html

I'm not a "writer", but I did major in English at Tulane in the 80's. Do your readers want to hear about my unfinished Abner Dalrymple pose run? 250 words or less, double-spaced. Items I read from wikipedia type sources like..."1st batter given an intentional walk, with the bases loaded?"

Dalrymple was the first batter for the Alleghenys in the National League, so he has some history behind him. That's an automatic hook, so it's about as much of a history intro that he needs before you get into the collection part of the article.
